A huge benefit of composite decking is that it’s extremely-durable and resistant when it comes to Colorado weather that typically affects normal wood decks.

Of course, that’s not to say that a Timbertech Decks doesn’t require any maintenance. There;s a few things a Composite deck owners should do to enhance the appearance and life of their deck. More importantly, there are things you should never do to our custom built decks.

Composite Deck Concerns
Caring for a deck built by LS Underground actually starts before the deck is even completed. Even though our materials are highly resistant to mold and mildew, your deck’s ability to withstand such problems is is based on the flow of air (or the lack of it) between the decking boards. When LS Underground builds, we ensure the deck boards are spaced properly to allow for optimum air and rainwater flow.

During the building of your custom outdoor living space we grade the soil to allow for water/snow run-off doesn’t remain under the deck.

Cleaning Tips for a deck built by LS Underground
There’s no limit to how often you can clean your custom deck, but a thorough cleaning should be done at least twice a year. In the meantime, if your deck has piled up dirt or debris on its surface, the best way to get rid of it is to spray it off using a hose, or to brush it off using a broom. If there is any hard to remove residue, try washing the area with warm soapy water and a cloth.

  • Cleaning products recommended for use on Timbertech’s decking include:
  • Wash Safe Spray and Clean Composite Deck Cleaner
  • Resist Mist Composite Deck Cleaner®
  • Corte Clean
  • Super Deck Composite Deck Cleaner
  • Thompson’s Water Seal—Oxy Action

If you spill food, oil, or grease on your deck, you should clean up the spills as quickly as possible and clean the area with that warm soapy water.

To remove snow from your deck, you can use a rock salt to melt the snow and ice. Use only plastic shovels with non-metal edges for removing snow from your deck surface.

Everyone at LS Underground appreciates the opportunity to built your outdoor living space and we want you and your family to enjoy it for many many years to come.
